Love of Tammie Nories provides kiwi author with her inspiration

Posted on July 18, 2017 by Anne in Books, Will There Be Puffins?

New Zealand author Gay Hay (centre, sitting) and husband john (second from left standing) with some of their extended family during a book signing at the Shetland Times Bookshop.

Extract from an article in the Shetland Times, 9-6-17.

Mrs Hay’s 2014 publication Watch Out, Snail! won her a New Zealand Picture Book Award.

Her previous books even feature on the bookshelf of Prince George, who received copies during a visit to her country. Mrs Hay, in return, can boast of having received a thank you letter from Buckingham Palace.

Will There Be Puffins? was illustrated by Gavin Bishop Award shortlisted artist Sarah Harman, a New Zealander now based in Glasgow. She was in Shetland last month to launch the book locally.
